Job Summary:
The Curriculum Mapping Specialist is responsible for developing and managing curriculum mapping processes and tools to ensure alignment with educational standards, objectives, and best practices. This role collaborates with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to design and implement effective curriculum mapping strategies that enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement curriculum mapping processes and tools that align with organizational goals and educational standards.
2. Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify and articulate learning outcomes, skills, and competencies for various educational programs.
3. Analyze existing curriculum documents and materials to identify gaps, redundancies, and areas for improvement.
4. Design and maintain curriculum mapping templates to capture essential information, including learning objectives, assessments, instructional strategies, and resources.
5. Facilitate workshops and training sessions to educate faculty and staff on the curriculum mapping process, ensuring a consistent understanding and implementation across the organization.
6. Collaborate with instructional designers and faculty to integrate technology and innovative instructional practices into the curriculum mapping process.
7. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of educational standards, frameworks, and emerging trends in curriculum development and mapping.
8. Conduct ongoing evaluations of curriculum mapping processes and tools, making recommendations for enhancements and improvements.
9. Support the Curriculum Development Manager in coordinating and reviewing curriculum mapping activities across multiple programs and departments.
10. Assist in the development and maintenance of curriculum mapping documentation, including policies, procedures, and user guides.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in curriculum development and mapping, preferably in an educational institution or similar setting.
3. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum mapping methodologies, tools, and best practices.
4. Strong knowledge of educational standards and frameworks, such as Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, or other relevant standards.
5. Proficient in using curriculum mapping software and tools (e.g., Atlas Rubicon, Curriculum Mapper, etc.).
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify gaps and redundancies in curriculum materials.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
8. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
9. Knowledge of instructional design principles and experience integrating technology into curriculum mapping processes.
10. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
11. Familiarity with adult learning principles and experience in delivering training sessions or workshops is preferred.
